(West Fargo, ND) -- West Fargo educators could soon see some extra cash in their paychecks.

The school board voted unanimously Monday evening to give retention bonuses. The stipends would range from 250 to 500 dollars depending on the hours worked each week by the teachers last school year and this school year.

Administrators say it is one way to show appreciation for educators in the district.

This comes as a high number of positions went unfilled last year.
