Fargo Police report drop in number of July 4th firework related complaints

(Fargo, ND) -- Fargo Police responded to 98 firework related calls on July 4th.

Chief Dave Ziboslki says the number of calls shows an improvement.

"This year we had fewer complaints than last year so I guess that's somewhat positive. Maybe it's just where the 4th fell and maybe people were out at the lake which is a much better place to blow those fireworks off," said Zibolski.

No arrests or citations related to fireworks happened in the city during the holiday.

Under state law, officers are required to witness illegal fireworks use in order to issue a citation.
