Vote on Biden impeachment inquiry expected next week

(Washington, DC)  --  A vote to launch a formal impeachment inquiry into President Biden is expected to happen next week.

House Speaker Mike Johnson accused the White House of stonewalling the investigation into President Biden's alleged links to his family's foreign business dealings.

Johnson said the House has come to an "inflection point" in its investigation that was opened unilaterally by former Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

He said the vote is necessary to force compliance with the committees' ongoing work.

The White House argues the inquiry is illegitimate because it has not been authorized by a floor vote.
