(Minot, ND) -- Phase One of Minot's flood protection project is getting national recognition.

The Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Plan has earned the 2021 Crown Communities award from American City and County. The national organization recognized public projects and servants creating substantial impact on constituents.

The first phase of the project created new concrete flood walls, brought in 45-thousand cubic yards of dirt, installed a new 190-thousand gallon per minute pumping station, a 40-thousand gallon per minute sanitary lift station, and 18-thousand feet of utility reconstruction.
