(St. Paul, MN) -- A pilot project by the Minnesota Office of Traffic Safety will try to determine if roadside tests can effectively detect THC in someone's saliva.
Trained law enforcement officers will begin testing next year using two devices designed to indicate impairment caused by marijuana. Results from the tests will be compiled and presented to state lawmakers in 2025.
State officials say the goal is to find a device that can set a consistent standard for THC impairment and then make it legal for use by law enforcement.
