97 farms being recognized as Century Farms in Minnesota

(St. Paul, MN) — Nearly 100 Minnesota farms are being recognized for being family-owned for at least a century.

The Minnesota State Fair and the Minnesota Farm Bureau have announced this year’s list of Century Farms.  Each of the 97 farms on the list has been owned continuously by one family for at least 100 years, is still being used for farming and covers at least 50 acres.

Though several farms dating back to the 1800s are on this year’s list, the oldest farm being recognized is the Berquam-Krogstad Family Farm in Houston County, which was purchased originally in 1855.
