Mid Week April Storm

Another storm system will bring travel impacts to the area Tuesday night into Thursday morning along with windy conditions.

Another storm system will enter our area early this Tuesday morning, bringing in a wintery mix with strong wind from the SE gusting up to 40 mph. A wintery mix will turn over to scattered rain showers for Tuesday afternoon. It will remain windy with the wind turning to the west between 15-30 mph gusting to 40 mph. Traveling impacts will arrive Tuesday night into Wednesday morning as Tuesday's afternoon rain showers turn back into a wintery mix and wet snow Tuesday night. The winds will lighten up Tuesday night but return from the NW Wednesday morning with gusts to 50 mph. Snow showers will turn back to a wintery mix and rain Wednesday afternoon. Plan on slippery and slushy roads for the Wednesday morning commute. More of the same is expected for Wednesday night, as a wintery mix and snow showers continue into Thursday late morning. Snow totals remain uncertain at this time due to how close it will be to the freezing mark and when rain completely turns over to snow. Higher amounts look to remain east in north-central Minnesota with potentially 6+ inches of snow, while here in the valley around the F/M metro looks closer to 1-4".

Be sure to check back tomorrow for additional updates!
